"In terms of portfolio construction, it's satellite and core portfolios. We've spoken about it on the show where you have a portfolio known as the core, which is potentially 80% of your total investment, that is passive, and you're just building a portfolio of ETFs and potentially listed investment companies. Then your satellite is those smaller individual stocks that you might be taking a little bit of a punt on or hoping that you're going to get an outsized return, and that might be 10-20% of your portfolio. So that's one way that you can manage your risk. I would encourage beginners to have a look at that and think about the core satellite approach" - Bryce Leske
